Our Story

Krist Jyoti Apartments was established in 1971 by a group of like-minded individuals who dreamed of creating a safe and affordable housing community in Delhi. Over the years, our society has grown into a close-knit family of 50 households, each contributing to the vibrant culture and spirit of our community.

Our Vision

To provide a safe, inclusive, and vibrant living environment for all our residents, while fostering a sense of community and belonging.

Our History

Founded on 15th July 1971 (Registration No. 70(H)), Krist Jyoti Apartments was one of the first cooperative housing societies in Pitampura. The founding members, many of whom were teachers, worked tirelessly to construct 50 MIG flats across 4 blocks. Today, we continue to honour their legacy by maintaining a peaceful, transparent, and well-managed society.

Message from the President

“Memories are perhaps the most priceless treasures one can ever possess.”

Dear Friends,

With deep respect for the founder members of East Delhi CGHS Ltd (Krist Jyoti Apartments) and those who have left us for their heavenly abode, I would like to share a few thoughts about our beloved society.

In the 1970s and 80s, a group of young individuals from different parts of the country came together with a shared dream: to create a safe and decent shelter for their families. At a time when the concept of cooperative group housing societies was just gaining momentum, our founding members seized the opportunity to build a community that would stand the test of time. Many of them were teachers, and their dedication to education and community building laid the foundation for what we now call the “Krist Jyoti family.”

When the construction of Krist Jyoti Apartments was completed in the mid-1980s, we moved into our new homes with one heart and one mind, despite our diverse cultural backgrounds. For many of us, including myself, the society became our first “baby,” and we have nurtured it with love and care ever since. The early days were not without challenges—basic amenities like shopping complexes, transportation, and medical facilities were scarce. But today, we are blessed to have all these facilities within our vicinity, making our lives comfortable and secure.

I am proud to say that the values instilled by our founding members have shaped the lives of our children, who are now excelling in various fields across India and abroad. They carry forward the same spirit of unity and trust that was nurtured here. The weekly prayer services held in our compound by different Christian denominations, before they had their own places of worship, are a testament to the harmony and respect that define our community.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving the society in various capacities, and I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support and cooperation of my Krist Jyoti family. Together, we have proven that “Blood might make you related, but only trust and love truly make the family.”

Warm regards,

Sali Joseph
